Medical coatings

In medical areas, but also in the food production-, clean-room- and pharmaceutical industries, hygienic requirements are very high.
To support you in this highly sensitive environment, we offer you a special medical coating 70011.EC for a variety of substrates such as sheet steel, aluminum, plastic and casting..

Our hygienic coatings have the following properties:

• resistance against disinfectants
• resistant to chemicals and to corrosion
• resistant to abrasion
• elastic
• insensitive to scratches
• free choice of colors (standard: RAL 7035 light grey)

These advantages make our coatings your first choice for surfaces that are daily used and have to meet high medical standards especially with respect to disinfectancy.

Our coating supports you in the hygienic handling of your surfaces and thus allows for a responsible materials handling in all environments where human health requires special care.

In addition to this medical coating, we have the possibility to provide EMC-ESD-coatings for all surfaces. This option provides reliable protection against electromagnetic interferences and electrostatic discharges, especially for plastic enclosures.
Together, these coatings constitute the ideal standard in terms of safety and hygiene in medical environments.

Chemical resistance of the housing surface to disinfectants Wipe test In addition to the chemical stains test, a wipe test is carried out. With a cellulose cloth imbued in benzine or alcohol, the colored surface or the lettering is wiped for approx. 15 seconds with rotating movements and normal usage pressure. When this time is over, there must be no loose items, discoloring or fading of the varnish and/or the lettering.         For surfaces where only surface disinfectants are used, the media of the following group are used:           Alcohol-containing: FREKANOL (40%) undiluted     FREKADERM (80%) undiluted     MELISEPTOL undiluted           Tenside-containing: Teta-S 1%     Teta-clean undiluted           Aldehyde-containing: Ultrasol F 1%     Incidin perfekt 1%         For surfaces of housings, plates and so on, the same media as above are used, and the following disinfectants:           Active chloride-containing: Sporotal 100 (4%) undiluted     Bleach (NaOCl 12%) diluted 20 : 1           Active oxygen-containing: Puristeril 340 undiluted     Peracetic acid 40% diluted 10 : 1           others: Sodium hydroxide 10 % diluted 10 : 1     Glycerol/water diluted  1 : 1     Citrosteril (24%) diluted 10 : 1 For more information, please ask for our information brochure KDI00043 “Structural varnish 70011.EC”.
